This Apple Pie Smoothie recipe is fantastic because it is easy to make. A relatively healthy apple pie smoothie that is also yummy. Although Amber, our daughter, kind of got off the kick of making smoothies like she was in the summer. I reminded her, and she helped me whip up this delight!!! I was thinking of apples but wanted to add in the flavors of apple pie. This turned out to be a very delicious smoothie. I like to describe it as something that tastes so decadent but yet is so good for you.

NOTES
Recipe Notes and Variations:
You can use your favorite variety of apples for this recipe. I recommend a sweeter variety for this smoothie like Gala or Honeycrisp. Honeycrisp are my favorites.
We use Greek yogurt in this recipe because it’s thicker and higher in protein, making this smoothie extra creamy and filling. More of the smoothie form. You can use vanilla Greek yogurt or plain or even your favorite non-dairy yogurt; however, the smoothie won’t be as creamy.
To sweeten it up, you can use honey, maple syrup, agave syrup, etc. If using vanilla yogurt, you might not even need to sweeten it at all. Just taste and adjust the sweetness accordingly.
HOW TO MAKE THIS SMOOTHIE THICKER?
There are a few ways to make this smoothie thicker and creamier:
1. Add more ice for a thicker smoothie; however, this will lead to a more watery slushy-like smoothie.
2. Freeze your apple pieces before adding them to the smoothie. This will make your smoothie thick and cold without watering it down like the ice cubes will do.
3. Add 2-3 tablespoons of rolled oats to the smoothie. This will result in a creamier and more filling smoothie that can even replace your breakfast or snack. We did this trick in our Blueberry Muffin Smoothie.
