As deities came to life inInvisible City season 1,Eric, an environmental police officer, was forced to confront his personal ties to the beings he blamed for his wife's death. While he tried to resist this bond, he became victim to the dreaded "Dry Body" entity that was season 1's central villain. With his supposed defeat, it may have come at a high cost as Eric seemingly lost his life and may not be able to return to the realm of the living. There are numerous questions left unanswered, which could be resolved if Netflix moves forward withInvisible Cityseason 2, but there are some that can be answered now. Here's the ending ofInvisible Cityseason 1 explained.
What Actually Happened To Gabriela

Gabriela (Julia Konrad) was the first to die inInvisible Cityas a result of the Dry Body. Her mysterious death encompassed the entirety of season 1 and served as the driving force for Eric to solve the mysterious environmental disruptions taking place in Rio de Janeiro. By the finale of the folklore inspired television series, it is revealed that their daughter Luna was possessed by the Dry Body and killed her mother when the two embraced during the forest fire, but her spirit seems to be trapped in purgatory. When Eric perishes by the hands ofIberê, he sees his wife who tells him that his journey isn't over yet. Therefore, season 1 alludes that the people killed as a result of the Dry Body are transported to an entirely separate realm where their souls wander the supernatural plane until they resolve their unfinished business on Earth.
The Curupira Explained

The Curupira was at the top of everyone's interests when Invisible City season 1 began. It remained a constant until the very end, when Luna asks Isac (Wesley Guimarães) to take her to him. A Curupira is a Brazilian mythological creature that is commonly regarded as a demonic being. In the context ofInvisible City,he is the protector of the woods who was scorned by the Dry Body several decades ago when he ruthlessly killed the Curupira's family.
It stays relatively true to the folklore, as the creature tends to attack hunters or poachers from harming the environment. When Isac takes Luna to the Curupira, it is revealed that it is Iberê and the two must face off in order to determine who has a right to the land he and his fellow mythologicalbeings inhabit. Whether the creature is good or evil is up to interpretation, but Invisible City depicts him as the ultimate guard against humanity's environmental destruction.

Is The Dry Body Still Alive?
In an instant,Iberê runs a weapon through Eric's torso, seemingly killing he and the Dry Body, but it is inconclusive whether this has actually killed it. The spirit that has been jumping from Luna to Eric is decades old. While in his tomb, the "Dry Body" was able to build up its own set of supernatural powers. Now having the capability of draining the life force from others, he sets out to take revenge onIberê. Though he is seemingly killed, it does not mean that his spirit is gone forever. It is likely that both the "Dry Body" and Eric survived to some extent, which explains why Camila (Jéssica Córes),Inês (Alessandra Negrini), andIberê took Eric his body into their realm.

WhatWill Happen To Eric?
Half-way through Invisible City season 1, it is revealed that Eric's father isManaus, a shapeshifter. With supernatural DNA flowing through his veins, it is speculated that he serves as a channel between the human and mythological realms. Similar to Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) ofChilling Adventures of Sabrina,he is able to withstand mortal and supernatural powers, which explains why Camila couldn't kill him in episode 2. In the season 1 finale ofInvisible City,he is on the same plane as his deceased wife who informs him that his journey isn't over, as he is one of them. This essentially means that he will return, he did not die, and his body's venture into their realm may cause him to gain his own set of supernatural powers that could resemble his father's.

What Invisible City's Ending Means For Season 2
The most perplexing aspect ofInvisible City'sconclusion is the fact that Luna and Eric seem to have a telepathicbond. Right as he is about to kill Iberê his daughter shouts for him, taking him out of the Dry Body's spell for a brief instant. If Luna had not done so at this exact moment, it wouldn't have allowed forIberê to kill the Dry Body. Due to the fact that the spirit lived in both of their bodies, it is likely that this created some sort of telepathic connection between them. But, how did Luna know to shout for her father at that exact moment? It can only be speculated that she sensed a shift in the battle between good and evil, prompting her to do so.

This could be a major indicator of what's to come inInvisible Cityseason 2. It is never fully explained why Gabriela wants to save the small village in Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, one can speculate that she has some ties to the land and, in turn, the mythological beings that reside there. It is entirely plausible that both she and Eric have supernatural DNA that they passed down to their daughter, leading her to become just as powerful as Iberê, Camila, Isac, andInês.Invisible Cityseason 2 can surely supply this perplexing aspect of season 1's ending with some answers.
